Bikini model has returned to Hwy. 49 billboard

The billboard with the bikini-clad model in Auburn that was covered up by somebody who thought it was porn is back up.

In early June, the billboard off Highway 49 in Auburn was found covered by a black tarp, with the words "No porn in our town" written on it in spray paint.

The 12-by-24-foot billboard image was quickly replaced with an adopt-a-pet spot.

The original billboard was an ad for California Sun, a chain of tanning salons based in Granite Bay. It featured a local model, who looks a bit like Paris Hilton, in a white bikini and cowboy boots, lying on a rock at Folsom Lake.

One of California Sun's owners, Michael Blore, said this week that the billboard was down only about a week. The billboard has been back for about three weeks.

After meeting with billboard owner CBS Outdoor, Blore said the decision was made to restore the bikini ad. Blore said the support for the bikini billboard from the public was overwhelming.

"It was 10,000 to one," he said.
